A construction job is the site of the theft of tools in Texas County.

A 31-year-old Steelville man reported Thursday to the Texas County Sheriff’s Office that numerous tools and a television had been stolen from a home on Boone Creek Road that he is remodeling for its Florida owners.

The man stated that stolen items included: A Phillips flat screen TV valued at $200, two DeWalt orbital sanders worth $300, two Portercable belt sanders, $450; several router bits, $500; and a Bosch router, $250.

The total value reported swiped was $1,700.

The man showed an investigating officer that the point of entry was apparently a sliding glass door that had been pried open.
