Gail Brown, 60, of Cabool, died Friday, Feb. 03, 2012, at her home.

She was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Clayton, daughter of Billie Ray and Opal Juanita White Combs. She and Jim Brown were married May 30, 1998.

She enlisted in the Navy in 1981 and served four years at the Pentagon in the budget and analysis department. She received some college courses while in the service. She received her honorable discharge in 1985 as a Yeoman 3rd Class and returned home.

She worked as a barmaid, at the El Rancho Truck Stop, the Department of Motor Vehicles, manager of a local telemarketing agency and finally All-Star Gas before retiring in 1997.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and rededicated her life at Elk Creek Baptist Church, where she was a long time member and Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dale Combs; and a sister, Janice Vaughn.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Brown of the home; a son, Dale Combs of Cabool; a stepson, Andrew Brown of St. James; a stepdaughter, Vicki Nettles of Bolivar; a sister, Debbie Aldridge of Cabool; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were Monday Feb. 6, at Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home with Bro. Gordon Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
