The following are other matters dealt with last week by the sheriff’s department:
May 10
––A man called at about 11:20 p.m. to report seeing lights on a vehicle parked at an electrical business shed on Millstone Road.
An investigating officer went to the location and observed a bucket truck with its hazard lights on. A representative of the company arrived, and the area was checked, but nothing suspicious was reported found.
It was assumed that an employee had left the truck’s lights on.
––An officer responded at about 2 p.m. to a report of kids drinking and partying at the Baptist Camp river access on Highway RA.
The officer reported that the party was broken up and the beer was confiscated.
May 11
––A woman called to report hearing shots coming from the roadway outside her Sand Shoals Road residence. An investigating officer didn’t locate a shooter, but information was reportedly forwarded to game wardens.
May 12
––A man called at about 12:30 a.m. to complain that his estranged wife would not leave his Horseshoe Drive residence. An investigating officer reported that when he arrived at the location, the woman left without issue.
May 13
––Delores J. Rucker, 48, of 11096 Wye City Road in Success, was issued three citations following a traffic stop at about 6:20 p.m. on Highway 17 north of Highway ZZ.
An officer made the stop after a call was received indicating that a white mini-van was driving erratically in the area. After locating the vehicle and making contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests.
Rucker was cited for driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to show proof in insurance. She was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 12-hour hold period.
––A 46-year-old Licking woman called to report a domestic disturbance involving her 20-year-old son at their Mason Drive residence.
The son had left by the time an investigating officer arrived. The woman told the officer her son had become angry because she had the high-speed Internet service turned off.
She stated she didn’t wish to pursue charges.
––An officer reported May 11, a 55-year-old Cabool man had reported that a 100-pound anvil and a gas can containing about two gallons of gas had been stolen from his Highway AV residence. There are no suspects.
––A woman called at about 3:30 a.m. to report that a man was drunk and causing problems at her Highway 17 residence. The man was gone when an investigating officer arrived.
––A 21-year-old Raymondville woman called to report that her 30-year-old husband – from whom she is separated – took a camera out of her purse and sold it at a pawn shop.
The woman was advised that she would need to speak to an attorney since she and her husband were still married.
