Winds and dry conditions will combine to create a fire risk today, the National Weather Service says.

There is an elevated heat and fire risk Monday.

Here is the weather outlook from the National Weather Service:

*Temperatures and heat indexes will warm into the upper 100 to 105 degrees this afternoon.

*Elevated to locally significant fire weather conditions Monday: Persistent drought and dry vegetation, along with unseasonably hot daytime temperatures, will produce continued heightened concern for wildfire. Low afternoon humidity and winds will easily start and spread fires.

*A heat advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Monday.

*Burn bans are in place in some Texas County locations — Licking, Cabool and the Mark Twain Forest.

*Those taking part in outdoor activities will become susceptible to heat-related illnesses if proper precautions are not taken. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
