Levita Alean Lesley Neugebauer was born on March 22, 1926, in Wapanucka, Okla., to Allen Earl and Flossie Cordilla Rittlesberger Lesley. The Lesley’s moved the family to Texas, where Levita grew up with three brothers and five sisters.
Levita was united in marriage to Daniel Alfred Neugebauer on Oct. 21, 1942, and to the union was born two sons and four daughters. Dan and Levita spent 54 years together loving and spoiling their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Together they would enjoy each other, whether it was family fun activities or working together in the hay fields. Their home was a gathering place for family and friends to enjoy time together and great meals.
Levita loved her family. She raised her children to be loving and forgiving of others. She always said if you cannot do something or say something good, then don’t do or say anything. She enjoyed time with loved ones riding around on country roads and looking at the scenery. She enjoyed riding through fields and woods on the back of a four-wheeler. She loved fishing and riding in a boat. She always said she did not like to cook, but she was well known for being a great cook, especially for her peach cobbler and cinnamon rolls.
Levita was a member of Souls Harbor Church.
Preceding Levita in death were her parents; three brothers; three sisters; her husband, Dan; a daughter, Hazel Marie Wilson; and two granddaughters, Coni Rae Neugebauer and Gracie Michelle Wilson.
Surviving Levita are two sons, Alfred Neugebauer of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lonnie Neugebauer of Cabool, Mo.; three daughters, Kaye Cockrum of Houston, Mo., Sandra Allison of Nixa, Mo., and Jane Turner of Houston, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Cleo Kluna of Ardmore, Okla., and Tommie Crowder of Petrolia, Texas.
