Dalton C. Harrison of Cabool was sentenced after a cat was burned alive and later died.

A second person involved in the burning and subsequent death of a cat last summer in Cabool was recently sentenced after pleading guilty in Howell County Circuit Court.

For his role in the June 2011 burning of Tinkerbell, Dalton C. Harrison, 17, of 805 Cedar Str. in Cabool, was sentenced Aug. 3 by Circuit Judge David Evans to five years of supervised probation (including the special conditions of animal care assessment and treatment), 30 days in jail, paying $2,378 restitution and completing 200 hours of community service at an animal care facility.

Howell County court authorities said the jail where Harrison would spend his “shock” time was not specified.

Harrison’s cohort in the crime, Collin Beesler, 18, also of Cabool, pled guilty in May and was sentenced in July by 25th Circuit Judge Mary Sheffield to five years probation, and conditions including restitution and community service.

A probable cause statement regarding the case showed Beesler told investigators he held Tinkerbell while Harrison sprayed lighter fluid on her and then set her on the ground before Harrison set her on fire.
