Emma Willson

Emma Mary Coulter Willson, 93, died Friday, Aug.31, 2012, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 2, 1919, in Helena, Okla., daughter of William Floyd and Iva Ellen Mahieu Coulter. She and Millard Willson were married Dec. 27, 1938, in Oklahoma.

She and her husband moved to Bucyrus in 1940 and lived in or near Houston for the remainder of their lives.

She loved to entertain family and friends and host holiday gatherings and special events. She always decorated her home with Christmas Villages. She loved crafts and quilts. She hosted a quilting club for several years.

She was a longtime member of Bucyrus Baptist Church, attending faithfully as long as her health permitted.

She resided at Houston House for the last four-and-a-half years. She loved craft time and spent hours making gifts for her family, friends and staff members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Catherine Kay, who died in infancy; and a son, Meredith.

Survivors include four children, Lynn of Pacific, Don of Houston, Janett Mitchell of Licking and Karen Cooper of Rolla; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Emery Cemetery.
