A Texas County man known for fleeing from authorities in his car has done it again.
Licking Police Chief Scott Lindsey said around 11 p.m. Wednesday, an officer observed a silver Acura traveling west on Highway 32 with its high beams on. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the car took off and the officer lost sight of it near Highway M.
Lindsey said the car was being driven by 38-year-old Robert Copenhaver, of Licking, who is known to have an active felony warrant for non-support in Iron County, and that this was the second time Copenhaver has fled from a Licking police officer. Copenhaver is also known to have fled from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
“We’d like to get him rounded up if we could do that safely,” Lindsey said.
Anyone with information regarding Copenhaver’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Licking Police Department at 573-674-2278.
