As part of the 2012 HHS homecoming festivities, the Houston Lions Club is hosting a fish fry from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday inside the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds.
The event raises money to support Lions Club International Preservation and Sight Program. The club locally provides eyeglasses to those who need financial help in getting them. In addition, the local Lions Club supports the Leader Dog Program, Missouri Lions Eye Research Center Mid-South Lions Eye Hospital in Memphis and Lions Club International Endowment Fund.
The meal will include fish, coleslaw, brown beans, french fries and desert.
Advanced tickets are available from any Lions Club member, Landmark Bank and Romines Motor Co. Inc. for $8 for adults, $5 for children 6 – 12 years old, and under 6, free. Price at the door is $10 and $7. The club will also collect used eyeglasses at the door for distribution to the needy in Third World countries.
