The Houston Police Department has arrested numerous people for having active warrants in various communities and counties. The following are summaries of written reports recently filed by HPD officers:

––Danielle R. Winterland, 33, of 275 Elm Street at Summersville, was apprehended Friday at around 7 p.m. at McDonald’s in Houston after an officer observed her cross U.S. 63 from Walmart to the restaurant on foot. The officer had moments earlier received a report that Winterland was suspected of shoplifting at Walmart.

After she was detained, a computer check revealed Winterland was wanted in Texas County for possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child ($200,000 bond), in Howell County for a probation violation, and in Phelps County for failure to appear in court on a stealing charge (no bond). She was taken to the Texas County Jail.

––Wayne E. Land, 66, of 1283 John Street in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while revoked after an officer who was aware Land’s license was revoked saw him driving a blue Ford Aerostar on Highway 63 at about 5:30 p.m.

––Shawn K. Soto, 42, of 116 Park Street in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and six counts of supplying liquor to a minor.

An officer arrested Soto at her residence at about 4:30 p.m. and took her to the Texas County Jail.

––Zachary W. Holt, 24, of 209 E. Pine Street in Houston, was arrested at his residence at 4:15 p.m. for having an active parole violation warrant.

––Robert T. Rowland, 37, of 1105 John Street in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license after a traffic stop at 11:40 p.m. on First Street.

An officer made the stop after observing a black Chevrolet Blazer Rowland traveling without its headlights on.

After making contact with the driver (Rowland), the officer smelled alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests.

––Ronald F. Bennett, 67, of 8573 Highway 63 in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way for his role in a two-car accident at about 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 63 and Brushy Creek Road.

––Amber D. Kirk, 24, of 727 Dooley Street in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after being caught attempting to shoplift a diaper bag from the Houston Walmart Supercenter.

–Joshua A. Laster, 20, of 3644 Marlboro Hill Road at Poplar Bluff, was arrested for having an active City of Houston warrant for stealing under $500. An officer made the arrest after observing Laster standing at the counter inside the city hall building at 11:40 a.m.

Laster was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $1,500 bond.

––Thomas R. McGuire, Jr., 49, of 10504 Sackett Road at Raymondville, was arrest for having an active Texas County warrant for possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia after an officer was told McGuire was at the probation office in Houston. McGuire was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $10,000 bond.

––Michelle C. Marr, 42, of 513 Phelps Street in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for stealing leased or rented property after an officer who was aware of the warrant saw Marr standing at the corner of First Street and Steffens Street at 9:15 a.m. She was taken to the Texas County Jail, where she was unable to post $10,000 bond.

––Evelyn R. Lansdown, 38, of 12493 Evening Shade Road at Plato, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for hindering prosecution of a felony after an officer who was aware of the warrant saw Lansdown in the parking lot of a U.S. 63 business at 10 p.m.

––Brandy Arnold, 30, of 1546 Stillhouse Road at Willow Springs, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for non-support. An officer arrested Arnold at a U.S. 63 restaurant at 5 p.m. after being told she was there.

––Angela D. Briggs, 35, of 27707 Pike Lane at Hartshorn, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

An officer, who was aware Briggs had a warrant, made the arrest while investigating a reported theft at the Houston Walmart and observing her leaving the store. Briggs was taken to the Texas County Jail, where she was unable to post $150,000 bond.

––Amanda J. Pridemore, 28, of 9665 Gumbo Road at Mountain Grove, was issued a citation for improper vehicle registration after an officer observed expired tags on a charcoal GMC SUV being driven by Pridemore on U.S. 63 at 6 p.m.

––Dustin H. Fithen, 26, of 402 Phelps Street in Houston, was issued a citation for driving without a valid license after an officer who was aware Fithen didn’t have a valid license observed a black Dodge Durango being driven by Fithen pull into the parking lot of a U.S. 63 business at 10 p.m.
