Houston police arrested a local man after early-morning incidents involving the resident.

A Houston man faces charges following several early-morning incidents Oct. 26, Houston police said.

George F. Williams Jr., 25, of 724 S. U.S. 63 in Houston, was issued a citation on charges of driving while intoxicated after a series of run-ins.

An officer was dispatched at about 2:30 a.m. to a U.S. 63 apartment building regarding a possible fight. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Williams and another man, who were both obviously intoxicated and were trying to get into an apartment, according to a report.

After a woman arrived at the scene and was able to unlock the door, the officer advised the men to stay home and not to drive.

At about 4:30 a.m., the officer was at a Davis Avenue trailer court investigating other matters involving Williams and the man who was with him earlier, and Williams drove up in a white Ford truck and stopped directly behind the officer’s patrol car. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and Williams was taken to the Texas County Jail.
