Richard Bratton Jr. of Houston, who races in the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) SpecE30 series for 1987-1991 BMW 325i/is models, won both the 2012 SpecE30 regional championship and the NASA’s Mid South region Rookie of the Year award.

In the series’ 17-race schedule, spread out during nine months and three different tracks, Bratton had three wins and racked up 16 podium finishes (top three) on the way to beating out five other competitors to win the championship.

In his first year racing with NASA, Bratton also won the Mid South region’s Rookie of the Year award, which was based on the number of wins and his championship. Six competitors representing four series were in competition for the award.
