Eldon Leroy Derryberry, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Bethesda Nursing Home in Ellisville.

He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Hartshorn, son of Tom and Virgie Derryberry. He and Joyce Nadine Powell were married June 5, 1954.

He enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean war.

He accepted Christ as his Savior on Oct. 17, 1963, at the age of 34. He was a member of the Fenton Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; and a sister, Ethel Ennis.

Survivors include three children, Roger Derryberry of O’Fallon, Dennis Derryberry of Manchester and Pam Derryberry of Ballwin; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Ernest Derryberry of Pennsylvania and Ray Derryberry of Summersville; a sister Eunice Goodin of Fenton; a brother, Omern “John” Powell of Moberly; and several other family members and friends.

Services are Thursday, Dec. 6, at Schrader’s Funeral Home in Ballwin with Bro. Junior Foshe officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
