Lance Long, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at his home in Bucyrus.

He was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Tulare, Calif., son of William H. and Amelda Long. He and June Timpson were married in Selma, Calif.

He graduated from Kingsburg High and attended Fresno Technical College.

He served in the Navy from 1954-’62 aboard the USS Saipan and USS Lake Champlain carriers.

He and his wife, June, retired to Missouri in 1998. After retirement, he became disabled and his wife was his caregiver.

He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, June; three children, Steven Long of Clovis, Calif., Kathryn McFaul of Mountain View and Laurie Perry of Licking; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. No services are planned.
