A new auto repair business recently opened on North U.S. 63 behind the Texas County Health Department.
The shop is owned and operated by Elk Creek resident Bruce Chance, and is called Old Man’s Auto Repair. Chance recently moved here from Lebanon after working in a shop there for several years, and has 25 years of experience in the field. Originally from Minnesota, his wife is a Texas County native and he has several children living here.
“I’m going to offer everything from state inspections, to oil changes, computer diagnostics, and transmission services,” Chance said. “After 25 years, you get into a lot of things.”
Chance said he plans to add a second technician, but he’ll go it alone as he builds his new business.
“I’d like to think I do quality work,” he said. “Our rates will be kept down, and we’ll be friendly and offer good service. I’m pretty new to town and I don’t know a lot of people, but I just hope people will come in and check us out, and see what we have to offer.”
Old Man’s Auto Repair’s hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
