Nancy Vaughn

Nancy Nadine Dean Wiseman Vaughn, 78, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at her home in Plato.

She was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Texas County, daughter of Porter and Gertie Hildebrand Wiseman.

She was the fourth of eight children. When she was six years old, she was baptized in Christ in Paddy Creek, where she lived most of her childhood.

She lived in St. Louis for many years. Her daughters were born there. In 1973, she and her family moved to a farm in Plato.

She enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing and reading her Bible. She loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Alma Buckner.

Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda Penley, Renee Morrison and Stephanie Weber; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; six siblings, Ida Hudson, Gene Wolfe, Ulah Pursiful, Lois Williams, Porter Wiseman and Jana Williams; and many other friends and families.

Services were Saturday, Jan. 19, at Plato Christian Church with Eugene Earp and Landon Justice officiating. Burial was in Long Hollow Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
