Donald Robert “Bob” Bleckler, 66, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at his home in Raymondville.
He was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Neeses, S.C., son of Donald Robert and Lydia Lois Wilson Bleckler. He married Bonnie Gillison.
He served with the Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a diesel truck mechanic. He owned and operated his own business for several years and loved to work on trucks. He enjoyed driving and seeing the countryside.
He was an avid coin and stamp collector. He worked with wood and enjoyed gardening, fishing and being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Bonnie, of the home, three sons, Edward, Robert and Michael; a daughter, Shae Smith; eight grandchildren; a brother, Michael E. Bleckler; and a sister, Donna Bleckler.
Services were Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Evans Funeral Home with Chaplain Ron Richardson officiating. Burial was in the Central Baptist Cemetery.
