Harlem Wizards

The Summersville PTO and the Wildcat Booster Club are teaming up to sponsor an action-packed evening of tricks, hoops, and alley-oops, as the world-renowned Harlem Wizards basketball team comes to town to take on The Wild Ball Hogz.

The game promises to be unlike any that most fans have seen before. The Hogz are a team made up mostly of Summersville alumni and staff, along with a few Mountain View alumni. They will challenge six of the Wizards professional ball handling, high-flying hoopsters, led by Eric “Broadway” Jones.

Tip off is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at Summersville High School. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and concessions, souvenirs, and a 50/50 raffle will be available. Tickets can be purchased in Summersville at the elementary and high schools, Summersville Community Bank and Video Village, in Mountain View at the elementary and high schools, and at Community Bank branches in Eminence and Houston. Tickets prices for students and senior citizens are $8 in advance or $10 at the door, and for everyone else, $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Children four and under get in free.

People who purchase a ticket for an elementary student from Summersville, Mountain View, or Eminence are asked to write down that student’s name and turn it in to the ticket seller. Drawings will be held, and one elementary student from each participating school will get to sit on the bench with the Harlem Wizards during the game, but only students who have purchased a ticket in advance will be eligible, as the drawings will take place at school assemblies the day before the game.

Residents of all area communities are invited to come out and enjoy this awesome experience the whole family will never forget.
