Lee David Groves, 97, of Plato, died Sunday, Feb. 3 2013.
He was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Plato, son of Claude and Addie Mae Cook Groves. He and Golda Oleta Willis were married Aug. 20, 1967. She died Sept. 28, 2005.
He was a registered angus cattle breeder. He attended Cedar Bluff Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Golda.
Survivors include a brother, Jewell Groves, and his wife, Betty, of Plato; a niece, Deborah McGuire, and her husband, Jim, of Plato; a nephew, Donald Groves, and his wife, Carolyn, of Plato; several great-nieces and great-nephews; several step-children and step-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Jetton officiating. Burial with military honors was in Cedar Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Bluff Baptist Church or Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
