Glenn O’Neil, a 1979 Houston High School graduate, has won four basketball titles and a football championship at Scott Community High School in Kansas.

A Houston High School graduate recently added another championship to his growing resume –– and made history along the way.

Glenn O’Neil led the Scott Community High School (Kan.) boys’ basketball team to a 74-55 blowout of Humboldt in the Class 3A state championship game for the program’s third straight title.

O’Neil’s team is the first Class 3A team in Kansas to win three consecutive state basketball titles. He has led the Beavers to four basketball championships and in the fall led the football program to the state title.

O’Neil’s son, Brett, had 13 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds for the Beavers. Another son, Trey, hit three 3-pointers and scored 17 points.

O’Neil, a 1979 HHS graduate, is the brother of HHS football coach Billy O’Neil.
