Deputies with Texas County Sheriff's Department handled several investigations during the last week. 

The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.

•A deputy reported April 8 he had investigated a report of theft at a Bean Creek Road property at Licking. The officer stated that a 94-year-old man who lives there told him someone had been stealing catfish out of a pond. The matter remains under investigation.

•A deputy reported April 9 he had investigated a report by a 54-year-old Mountain Grove man that a log splitter valued at $700 had been stolen from his Nevill Road residence.

•A deputy reported April 10 he had investigated a complaint from a 49-year-old Licking man who stated that a camera and memory card had been purchased online without his authorization. The man said his credit card had been charged $673.47, and the equipment had been shipped to a man in Pinellas Park, Fla. The victim had the order cancelled, and investigation of the matter continues.

•A deputy reported April 13 he had investigated a report by a 48-year-old Houston man that a 12-inch, military style public address speaker valued at $650 had been stolen from his Highway B residence. The man reportedly named a 29-year-old Houston man as a suspect.

•A deputy reported April 15 he had investigated a report of property damage at a Dogwood Road residence at Mountain Grove.

The officer stated that a 28-year-old woman who lives there told him that someone had damaged an 8-foot tall windmill valued at $200. There are no suspects.

•A deputy reported April 15 he had investigated a report of theft of gas and damage to a gas tank at a 55-year-old Raymondville woman’s Highway 137 residence. There are no suspects.

•A deputy reported that on April 15 he had investigated a complaint from a 49-year-old Licking man that garbage had been blowing from his neighbor’s property for about 30 days onto his Iron Mine Road property. The officer made contact with the neighbor, a 27-year-old woman, who admitted it was her garbage.

•A Missouri Department of Transportation representative reported on April 16 that 13 state-owned road signs with a total value of $450 had been stolen in an area around Highway M in Texas County. The MoDOT worker stated that swiped signs included one state route sign, one stop sign, one high water warning sign and 10 object marker signs (five right and five left).

There are no suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched April 20 to a Highway DD location regarding a report of a vehicle with an out-of-state license parked by the roadside and people fighting. The officer was unable to locate it.

•A deputy was dispatched April 21 at about 1:20 a.m. to a home on Sugar Maple Lane in Houston to assist Houston police with a boy who was reportedly breaking things in his house. Officers successfully got the child to calm down.

•A deputy was contacted by Houston police April 21 at about 8 p.m. and asked to locate a man at a Hayes Road residence and bring him in for an interview about a theft. The man was located and taken to the TCSD.

•A deputy was dispatched April 21 at about 6:30 p.m. regarding a report of multiple shots being fired near the river on Sand Shoals Road. The officer made contact with a group of people who stated they had not been shooting, but that another group had been there earlier. The officer reported that no guns were found at the scene.

The woman was advised to clean up the garbage, or possibly be cited for littering.
