Leroy Alva Lotz, 83, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Licking, son of Martin and Avon Keeney Lotz.
He was raised in Licking and graduated from Licking High School. He entered the Navy on Nov. 26, 1948, and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 21, 1953.
In the late 1960s and 70s, he played the guitar and sang in several area churches in Texas County. He loved singing gospel music. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and chatting around the table at coffee shops in the Licking and Houston areas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Gayle Marty of St. Louis; a granddaughter, three brothers, Donald Lotz of Licking, Bill Lotz of Annapolis and Bob Lotz of New Bloomfield; and a sister, Kay Kinder of Licking.
Graveside services were Saturday, March 30, in Boone Creek Cemetery with Wesley Wallace officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
