Houston runners Kayla Herndon and Reanna Craig both had runner-up performances at the South Central Association conference track meet Monday in Salem.
Herndon ran the 110-meter hurdles in 17.78 and 300 hurdles in 51.45 for a pair of second-place finishes. Craig was second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:45.29. Craig also finished third in the 1600.
The HHS girls’ 4×200 relay team of Herndon, Nora Dixon, Taylor Harrison and Shelby Cremer finished fourth in 2:06.48.
Caleb Adkison was fifth in the 300 hurdles in 48.21 for the highest finish for the HHS boys. He and Austin Schock tied for sixth in the high jump with leaps of 5 feet, 2 inches.
