Houston seventh-grader Evan Richardson established a new school record in the 200 meters April 16 at the meet in Mountain Grove. Richards ran the race in 26.52 to break Nathanial Alkire’s previous mark of 27.30 set in 2009.
Richardson, who won the 200, finished second in the 100 and long jump. Noah Mosely was third in the 1600 and fourth in both the 100-meter hurdles and 400.
Trenton Best paced the eighth-grade boys by finishing second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 400.
Katie Williams won the 75 hurdles for the seventh-grade girls. Madison Lawson was second in the 100.
The eighth-grade girls won the 11-team meet. They received first-place finishes from Emily Shea (shotput), Jaydin Ramsey (triple jump), Abby Casper (100 and 400) and the 4×100 relay team of Casper, Ramsey, Shea and Tory McCloud.
