Esther Lavern Hutsell Richardson, 70, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Huggins, daughter of Carlos and Blanche Greenlee Hutsell. She and Carl Richardson were married May 25, 1958.
She grew up in the Huggins area and attended Houston High School. She worked 30 years at Brown Shoe Factory and handled the business side of a car lot.
She loved fishing and playing solitaire on the computer. She enjoyed baking and decorating cookies with her grandchildren, Mountain Grove High School football games and DIY home projects.
She attended No.1 Church in Huggins with her parents and accepted the Lord at an early age. She rededicated her life to the Lord in the early 1980s. She was active in the church, serving as Sunday school teacher and church secretary at Southside Baptist Church in Mountain Grove. She later joined First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, two sisters; three sons, Carl Gene, Steve and David; and a daughter, Connie Lavern.
Survivors include her husband, Carl, of Mountain Grove; a son, Randy of Cabool; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emmitt Hutsell of Huggins and Ernest Hutsell of Oregon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were Friday, June 7, at First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove with Bro. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
