NANCY BREWER

Nancy Lee McCann Brewer, 74, of Plato, died Thursday, June 27, 2013.

She was born March 2, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., daughter of Cecil Leroy and Margurite Lucille Stringer McCann.

She was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution Noah Coleman Chapter. She was a former member of the Eastern Star Chapter #497 of Newton, Ill. She was a member of the Roby Baptist Church.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Frank, spoiling her grandchildren, gardening and community projects.

She became a genealogist and along with her sister, Helen, had a passion for looking and finding their ancestry. She had almost finished her book online.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; a brother, Jack Alan McCann; a sister, Helen Louise McCann Wilhelm; and two great-grandchildren, Shayla and Conner Grim.

Survivors include a son, Timothy Crawford of Plato; two daughters, Kathy Grim of Plato and Frances Truitt of St. Charles; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Weaver of Plato; and several other family members and friends.

A celebration of life service for she and her husband was Tuesday, July 2, at Roby Baptist Church with Pastor Brock Davis officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
