Rockey D. DeWitt, 57, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Cox Hospital.
He was born in Houston, son of Billy Eugene and Evelyn Stringer DeWitt. He married Mary Terrill DeWitt.
He was a honorary member of the Summersville High School FFA. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a bus drive and enjoyed taking the FFA students on trips. He enjoyed playing his guitar for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Benda DeWitt.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary; his mother, Evelyn; six children, Mike DeWitt, Billy DeWitt, Mandy Bradley, Rockey DeWitt Jr., Melinda DeWitt and Josh DeWitt; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Rickey DeWitt; a sister, Sharon Morgan; and a host of other family members and friends.
Services were Wednesday, June 5, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Bradford officiating. Burial was in Summers Cemetery.
