Christopher “Chris”Joseph Rector, 64, died Friday, July 26, 2013.

He was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Tokyo, Japan, son of Donald Lloyd and Carmella Ester Capriglione Rector.

He was a military child and traveled the world until his father retired from the Army in 1968. They moved to Licking.

After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy. He worked several years as a dispatcher for the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department. He later reenlisted in the Marines. He was a home healthcare provider until his retirement.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Licking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald; and his wife, Paula.

Survivors include two children, Cheryl Schierhoss of St. Louis and Kristine Dobbs of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Pete of Licking; a sister, Leona Forest of Norfolk, Va.; five grandchildren; and other family members.

Services were Wednesday, July 31, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Tubbs officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery.
