Barbara Jane (Biram) Pinkston, daughter of Vernon W. and Cecil Blanche (Welch) Biram, was born Nov. 10, 1944 in Plato, Mo. She left this earth for her heavenly home on Sept. 23, 2013, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mo., at the age of 68.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Pinkston; and three brothers, Noel, David and Wayne Biram.

Barbara was united in marriage to Edmond Pinkston on June 14, 1969, and to this union two sons were born, Mike and Randy.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Pinkston and wife, Whitney, and their children, Jacob, Hannah and Harper of Springfield, Mo., and Randy Pinkston and wife, Daisy, and their children, Austin, Trenton and Hayden of Competition, Mo.; two brothers, Bob Biram and wife, Susan, of Plato, Mo., and Johnny Biram and wife, Alvina, of Licking, Mo.; three sisters, Carolyn Mason of Roby, Mo., Faye Breeden of Lebanon, Mo., and Clara Tryan and husband, Bill, of Springfield, Mo.; a multitude of nieces, nephews and dear family members, Diane Ingalls and Cheryl and Benny Haney.

Barbara held many jobs. She owned and operated the Plato Café for a number of years and was also a secretary for the Village of Plato and the Township. Her greatest “job” was owning and operating her daycare at her home. She really enjoyed “her kids.”

Barbara lived and loved life. She was a very busy lady that gave her time to many people and projects. She was a very loyal and long-term member of Roby Christian Church, where she was church secretary and Sunday school and Bible school teacher. Barbara enjoyed playing softball as a young adult. She loved attending activities and sports for her grandchildren.

She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. Barbara always looked forward to the family vacations, specifically the Rocky Mountains. She could also play an exciting game of cards; she played many games of pitch and pinochle with her family and friends.

Barbara is now enjoying her time with her Savior, whom she loved so dear, and greeting her loved ones that went on before her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Roby Christian Church. Services begin at 2 p.m. with Brian Ingalls and Jeff Wofford officiating. Pallbearers are J D Biram, Kevin Haney, Cayl Steinbrink, Aaron Lemons, Don Atterberry, David Meckem, Davin Hobbs and Ron Biram. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
