Catherine Louise Pluff, 93, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1919, in St. Louis, daughter of Francis and Mary Stein Pluff.
She grew up in the metropolitan St. Louis area. She graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy in East St. Louis, Ill., in 1939.
She worked in many places in her career, including the Public Library of East St. Louis, Ill., the City Directory Company of St. Louis, International Shoe Company and Tober-Saifer Shoe Company.
She enjoyed traveling many places, including Hawaii and New York City multiple times.
She moved to Houston in 2000 and was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed making shadow boxes for the church bazaar. She loves making crafts, reading and watching classic movies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arnold Pluff; and two sisters, Dorothy Wright and Marie Meinkoth.
Survivors include three grandchildren; and multiple other family members and friends.
Services were Monday, Sept. 16, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
