The Missouri Department of Conservation will host a forest management field day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Bee Rock Land Co. office on Highway B (2 1/2 miles east of Raymondville).
Topics covered at the event will include:
•Best management practices for harvesting.
•Cost-share opportunities for forest management practices.
•Forest consultant services.
•Forest management for wildlife habitat.
•Timber bidding and contracts.
•Importance of using timber sale contracts.
Attendance qualifies for professional timber harvester continuing training requirements.
There is no charge. Most activities will take place outdoors, so event organizers recommend that people dress accordingly.
