While serving a federal warrant on a Raymondville man wanted on federal firearms charges, authorities found numerous marijuana plants and bags of processed pot at the man's Possum Trot road property.

While serving a federal arrest warrant Sept. 5 in Raymondville, law enforcement officers from multiple agencies found and seized several pounds of processed and unprocessed marijuana.

Loyd Reeves, 50, of Raymondville, was arrested on charges of felon in possession of firearms and manufacturing a controlled substance, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A Texas County Sheriff’s Department report indicated that a deputy found 28 pot plants growing on Reeves’ Possum Trot Road property.

Reeves was investigated by deputies earlier this year when he pawned two guns at a local pawn shop and was later discovered to be a convicted felon. After his arrest, he was released to the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The South Central Drug Task Force also assisted in the investigation.
