Dwain G. Terrill, 90, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at Mountain View Healthcare.
He was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Fremont, son of Carlos and Mammie Patterson Terrill. He married Wilma Lee Delling.
He was a member of the Summersville First Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years and as a deacon for thirty-plus years.
He loved being outdoors, whether cutting winter firewood or hunting. He worked in high mountain timber in Washington and Oregon. He worked in Illinois for Fisher Body. Missing the outdoors, he returned to Missouri to work for Moss Tie Company. He also worked for Summersville School District and retired after 22 years.
He enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing and reading western books. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Glenn, Estil, Millard and Dale; an infant brother; and two sisters, Bonnie Duncan and Mabeline Cleaver.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma, of the home in Summersville; three children, Karon Carpenter of Summersville, Sharon Patton of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Gaylan Terrill of Raymondville; a sister Wilma Amburgy Davis of Medford, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Summersville First Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Boyd officiating. Burial was in Summersville City Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
