The Houston volleyball team knocked off one of the biggest schools on its schedule last week

The Lady Tigers outlasted West Plains 25-16, 10-25, 25-22 on the road Oct. 8.

Junior Megan Silveus led HHS with seven kills. Three players –– Sydney Cremer, Katelyn Martinez and Nora Dixon –– had five kills apiece.

Camryn Scheets had a team-best 18 assists, and Desiree Venable led the Lady Tigers with 16 digs.

On Oct. 3, HHS lost to Mountain Grove in straight sets for its first South Central Association loss of the season. The Lady Tigers are 3-1 in conference play.

Over the weekend, Houston had three ties and one loss in the Licking Classic. The Lady Tigers lost to Willard 25-17, 25-17 and split with Mountain Grove, Willow Springs and Eminence.

Silveus led the team with 16 kills in tournament play. Sarah Kelley had five blocks, and Shelby Cremer had four aces.

On Monday, Kelley had four kills in a 25-12, 25-7 loss at Winona.

Scheets had 12 assists, and Venable led the team with 10 digs.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Alyssa Hayes had a pair of kills in the JV Lady Tigers’ 25-14, 25-19 loss last Monday at West Plains.

Hayley Walker led HHS with five assists. Abby Casper had a team-best eight digs.
