MABEL BUSSARD

Mabel Irene Bussard, 87, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, in Houston.

She was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Paton, Iowa, daughter of Melvin and Mary White Wilson. She and Charles Flint were married in 1949. He died in 1979. She and Bob Bussard were married in 1989.

She graduated from high school in Lake City, Iowa, and earned a degree in home economics from Iowa State University.

She worked as an extension agent for several universities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles and Bob; a daughter, Suzanne; four brothers, Erwin, Walter, Ted and Richard; and three sisters, Mildred, Marion and Helen.

Survivors include a son, Toby Flint of Ponchatoula, La.; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; two stepdaughters, Karol Kay Hanson of Licking and Katheryn Witcher of Coral Springs, Fla.; a sister, Marjorie Webster of Bergenfield, N.J.; and many relatives.

Memorial services will be at a later date. She was cremated under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.Burial was in Dawson Township Cemetery in Jefferson, Iowa.
