There are multiple activities in Houston today as costume-clad children hit the streets to celebrate Halloween.

The biggest is the annual downtown event that brings candy and treats to booths lining Grand Avenue. The event is from 6-8 p.m.

Also planned tonight in Houston for trick-or-treaters:

––In conjunction with the downtown event, Faith Fellowship will have several activities from 6-8 p.m. as part of “Minion Madness” at the Lone Star Plaza and nearby Pine Street. There will be decorated cars and motorcycles handing out treats, a jump house and rock climb, carnival style games, free hot dogs and Minion movie clips.

––Cornerstone Christian Church is serving free chili from 5:30-7 p.m. at the church located on Main Street. There will also be live music.

––There is a Fall Festival carnival from 6-8 p.m. at Wellspring Church on south U.S. 63. There will be games, candy, costume prizes and chili dogs.

––The First Christian Church is hosting a trunk-or-treat from 5:30-8 p.m. at its facilities on Highway 17 in Houston. It will include a bounce house, prizes, candy and hot dogs.

––All Dolled Up is hosting a pumpkin decorating contest. Winners will be chosen today.

––There is a dog costume contest at 5:30 p.m. today at Diane’s Pet Styles in Houston. Trophies will be awarded for scariest, funniest and most original/homemade. There will be a Halloween photo booth and candy.

––Phoenix Theatre is showing Monsters University at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free. Costumes are encouraged.

–The Houston Fire Department is handing out free hot dogs and letting children go through the fire trucks at its station
