Former Houston resident Larry Dablemont, whose “Outdoor in the Ozarks” column appears each week in the Houston Herald’s Messenger section, will host an event this Saturday in Bolivar that will highlight the work of Ozarks area artisans.
Beginning at 9 a.m., the event will take place at “The Complex” in Bolivar (1 ½ miles east of Walmart on Gilead Road) and is free to attend. Dablemont said Texas County wood carvers, painters and other artists are welcome to set up, and that the owner of an art gallery near Bennett Spring – Sandra McCormick – will be on hand hoping to find outdoor-oriented artwork to display at her gallery.
Dablemont said he expects numerous artists to display their work, and as many as 2,000 visitors to view it. For more information, call Dablemont at 417-777-5227.
