The next Miss Merrie Christmas will be crowned Sunday in the annual pageant sponsored by the Houston Sorosis Club.
The pageant, which begins at 3 p.m. at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds, features three age levels as titles will be awarded to the little, junior and miss Merrie Christmas.Â
Shelby Ringdahl, the reigning Miss Missouri, and Tess Mandoli, Miss Missouri Outstanding teen, will be the emcees and provide entertainment.
Competing for the Little Miss Merrie Christmas crown in the 4-6 age group are: Amber Lee, Allie Campbell, Halee Ammons, Emily Young, Addison Neugebauer, Myka King, Sara Jones, Reese Wilson and Jennifer Spencer.
Contestants in the Junior Miss Merrie Christmas category for middle schoolers are Pheadra Smith, Alexis Fuwell, Abby Cole, Megan Reynolds and Maddy Cole.
The six high schoolers competing for the title of Miss Merrie Christmas are Crystal Sutphin, Mariah Clifton, Kayla Shriver, Hailey Dodson, Brittany McCallister and Elizabeth Harris.
Proceeds from the event, which includes many raffles, benefit the Houston Sorosis Scholarship Fund awarded annually to two graduating Houston High School senior girls. Tickets for the pageant are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children under age 5 are free.
