SARAH CARTER

Sarah Lynn Carter, 59, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at her home in Norwood.

She was born April 18, 1954, in Houston, daughter of Robert and Eugenia Mae Smith Carter. She and John Carter were married Jan. 31, 1999.

She grew up in the Houston area and attended Houston Schools.

Sarah attended a country church in the Norwood area as often as possible until her health failed.

She enjoyed cross-stitching, the outdoors, riding horses, spending time on the front porch at the farm and growing vegetables and flowers. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Carter; and a son, Eric Cross.

Survivors include her husband, John of Norwood; two sons, Allen Cross of Hartville and Jeff Cross of Norwood; a stepson, John Carter of Mansfield; a stepdaughter, Gwendolyn David of Forsyth; 14 grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Tom Carter of Springfield; and two sisters, Linda Willson of Pacific and Robyn Vaughn of Lonedell.

Graveside services were Friday, Dec. 27, in Pine Lawn Cemetery with the MO. Rev. Wayne Russell officiating. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
