Richard Clyde Holt, 82, of Licking, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at his home.

He worked in the combining field of Kansas and Oklahoma before joining the Navy. He retired after four years and moved to Virginia, where he worked in the dozing and concrete business with his brother, Wayne. Upon returning to Licking, he was a dozer operator and for eight years was a deputy with the Texas County Sheriff’s Department. He later retired from Intercounty Electric.

He loved to hunt and fish, especially during late nights at Boiling Springs. He enjoyed gardening.

He rededicated his life to Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his parents, Coy and Louise Holt; and a brother, Wayne Holt.

Survivors include his children Terry Morrison of Licking, Coy Holt of Strawsburg Va., and Lesly Richards and Donna Hall of Licking; five grandchildren; and other family members.

Memorial services will be held in the spring at Boiling Springs on the Big Piney River. Services were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
