A wanted Houston woman was arrested last week by Houston police as she attempted to get a ride home.
Jessyka T. Howard, 21, of 112 Spruce St. in Houston, was arrested on Jan. 21 for having three active warrants.
An officer made the arrest after observing a woman walking near the post office on First Street at about 10 p.m. and making contact with her. The woman, Howard, told the officer she was walking home and asked for a ride.
The officer said he would give her a ride, but would first do a routine check for warrants. The officer subsequently discovered Howard had a Franklin County warrant for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and warrants for stealing under $500 by the Pacific and Sullivan police departments. She was subsequently taken to the Texas County Jail.
