Houston's city council met Tuesday and approved several items.

Members of the Houston City Council acted on several items during a meeting Tuesday.

The council:

•Revised its ordinance related to offenses involving “receiving stolen property.”

•Authorized a $4,000 contribution to the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce for its annual fireworks show.

•Will seek bids for a tractor that will be used for mowing and other functions by the city’s water and electric departments.

•Will grandfather in nine employees who have sick leave time in excess of 1,000 hours. A new policy caps it at 1,000.

•Heard a report on activities during the last year by the Houston Police Department.

•Set the spring cleanup days for April 21-24.
