The Houston boys’ and girls’ basketball teams received their district pairings Wednesday afternoon.

The Tigers are seeded eighth and will face top-seeded Hartville at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the opening round of the Class 3 District 10 tournament. The Lady Tigers are seeded sixth and face No. 3 Alton at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Both district tournaments will be hosted by Cabool High School.

The Tigers (6-15) have lost seven straight games with road contests remaining at Thayer, Liberty and Cabool to conclude the regular season. They previously lost to Hartville 72-39 on Jan. 31.

After losing 47-32 Wednesday night to Hartville inside Hiett Gymnasium, the Lady Tigers (7-12) conclude their regular season with road games at Plato, Thayer, Liberty and Cabool. They have not played Alton this season.

Licking (18-2) is the top seeded girls’ team, followed by Mountain Grove (14-6), Alton (13-4), Liberty (11-9), Hartville (9-12), Houston, Willow Springs (3-16) and Cabool (6-13).

The top four teams on the boys’ side – Hartville, Liberty (16-5), Licking (14-6) and Alton (12-8) – all have winning records. The rest of the field includes Mountain Grove (8-11), Willow Springs (9-12), Cabool (7-13) and Houston.
