Area personalities will square off on the hardwood tonight as a fundraiser for the Houston Tiger Booster Club. Only there’s a catch. They will be riding donkeys.

The donkey basketball tournament will begin at 6:30 p.m. inside Hiett Gymnasium. The first game will pit employees from Texas County Memorial Hospital against local law enforcement officers and firemen. The second game is the Houston High School class of 2013 against this year’s senior class. The winning teams from both games will play in the championship game.

Funds from the event will provide four scholarships to HHS seniors. The booster club hopes to present the scholarships annually.

Tickets will be available for $8 at the door. Admission is free for preschool students. For more information, call Christie Koch at 417-260-3052.

The game is hosted by Dairyland Donkey Ball from Chippewa Falls, Wisc. The group also provides donkey baseball and celebrity races.

  • Three games will be played beginning at 6:30 p.m.
