The latest monthly receipts from a half-cent sales tax in the county. Three are collected.

Sales tax revenue reported by retailers in Texas County shot upward about 16 percent compared to 2013 in the latest monthly collection period, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue. 

The tally from each of three, half-cent sales taxes was about $94,000, which is up about $13,000 each from the same period a year ago. 

The total was strong enough to move the first quarter into the positive column compared to the same period in 2013. For the year, each tax has generated about $247,000.
