Me on the mountainside

The toughest and most dangerous red tourist trail in Poland leads from Mount Zawrat (2159 m a.s.l.) to the easternmost Krzyzne Pass (2113 m a.s.l.) in the Polish Carpathians (High Tatra Mountains known as the ‘Polish Alps’, ‘Tatry Wysokie’ in Polish). The mountain range is of great significance for the whole world. Since its opening in 1906 over 100 inexperienced hikers were killed. In my considered opinion ladders for climbing and cable bridges are situated in the most dangerous areas. Therefore, give a care! I went there together with my colleague in the eighties. Halfway across the well-maintained trail there is a great mountain view over the Five Polish Tarns (Great, Front, Small, Black, and Rear) Valley and the biggestwaterfall in Poland, 70 m Great Siklawa Falls on the Roztoka Mountain Stream (its rise in the Great Polish Tarn). Both the famous panoramic viewpoint and important junction of marked hill walking trails are in this main ridge of Tatra Mountains.
