The sheriff of Wright County — responding to a call — was injured in a crash Wednesday when his vehicle struck a truck about five miles north of Hartville, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Sheriff Glenn B. Adler was traveling northbound in a 2011 Ford Expedition when it struck a 1998 Chevrolet pickup stopped in the roadway and driven by Thomas D. Atchison, 48, of Mountain Grove.
Adler was transported to Cox South in Springfield. His vehicle was totaled.
Atchison and Kimberly A. Raney, 36, of Springfield, were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. All three had moderate injuries, said Cpl. Eric Cooper of the patrol. All were wearing seatbelts, he said.
