Larry Gayer

Larry Roland Gayer, 72, son of Louis and Wanona (Tucker) Gayer was born Feb. 5, 1942 in Wichita, Kan. He passed away June 20, 2014 at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Mo.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Wayne Gayer; grandson, Derrick Sillyman; granddaughters, Gracie Mae and Jazzie Rose Buckner; and a brother, Andrew Gayer.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan of Cabool; three sons, Larry Gayer and wife Teresa and their children, Keri and Kevin of Lexington, Tenn.; James Gayer and wife Amy and daughter, Kristen, of Cabool; Terry Gayer and his children, Megan and Maddie, of Cabool; three daughters, Cindy Sillyman and husband Brian and their children, Shayleen and Amber of Houston; Tammy Roberts and husband Kevin and their children, Sean, Casie, Nathan and Emily of Mountain Grove; Vickie Buckner and her children, Taylor, Ethan, and Joey of Houston; four brothers, Delbert Gayer and wife Shirley of Cabool, Orval Gayer and wife, Louise of Cabool, Lynn Gayer and wife, Mary of Houston, and Lonnie Gayer of Marlow, Okla.; two sisters, Bessie Simons and beloved James Simons of Wichita, Kan., and Tresa Meisenheimer and husband John of Jackson, Mo; 10 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Larry married his sweetheart and best friend, Susan Weber on Dec. 29, 1961, and to this union seven children were born; Larry, Cindy, Michael, Tammy, James, Terry and Vickie.

He attended school in Wichita, Kan. He received Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1972 and remained a devoted faithful man of God.

Larry was the pastor of House of Prayer and Worship Full Gospel Church, after resigning as pastor he was invited to several of the area churches to spread God’s word.

During his lifetime Larry was known for his race car 4A abilities, working and managing his own garage and end-time prophecy preaching.

Larry loved his family and Susan was the highlight of his life. He enjoyed family events and gatherings.

He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather; he was always looking for ways to help everyone he met.

Larry will be missed but we know that he is enjoying the beauty of heaven and is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus his Savior, the one he spent his life faithfully serving, walking on the streets of gold in his new body.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday June 24, 2014, at Souls Harbor Family Worship with Cordie Wimberley, Lonnie Case, Orval Gayer, Lynn Gayer, Delbert Gayer and Donnie Wells officiating. Pallbearers were: Sean MacDonald, Nathan MacDonald, Kevin Gayer, Brandon Calhoun, Billy McNutt and Brad Gayer. Honorary pallbearers were: William McNutt, Brody Rich and Ethan Buckner. Burial was in Brown Hill Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
