A local organization will host a youth-oriented event Saturday at the Houston City Pool and Westside Park.
Called “The End of Summer Palooza,” the event will run from 5-10 p.m. and feature multiple activities, including swimming, an outdoor kid-friendly movie, live music, safety awareness, yard games, inflatable jump houses and food.
Schedule of events:
•From 5 -7 p.m. an Air Evac helicopter will be at the Houston High School baseball field for spectators to tour and get an up close view of the emergency vehicle. Officers with the Houston Police Department will also be there with the agency’s K-9 unit, as will a fire truck from the City of Houston Fire Department.
•The Houston city pool will be open from 6-8 p.m. with $3 admission. No passes accepted.
•Also at 5 p.m., the Undivided Hearts praise team will be performing at the Westside Park pavilion.
•At 8:30 p.m., an outdoor movie will be shown at Westside Park.
•Yard games will take place throughout the evening for everyone to enjoy. Large inflatables and jump houses will be provided for children to enjoy as well.
An air rifle with scope and wooden stock, donated by Gamo USA, will be raffled off during the event.
The event is being organized by the Houston Young Visionary Committee to bring awareness to the Houston Community Foundation, which is part of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO). CFO is a public foundation serving the Missouri Ozarks, with a mission of enhancing the quality of life in the region through resource development, community grant making, collaboration and public leadership.
