The Houston High School football and volleyball teams will prepare for their 2014 seasons with jamborees alongside area schools.
The Tigers travel to Ava on Friday in a four-team football jamboree with the Bears, Mountain Grove and Strafford. The event was moved to Ava due to construction at Strafford High School.
HHS will face Ava in the first session beginning at 7 p.m. at the south end of the field. The second and third sessions –– against Strafford and Mountain Grove –– are also in the south end.
Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
The Lady Tigers will see three conference opponents Tuesday night when they participate in the volleyball jamboree at Willow Springs High School. Along with the Lady Bears, HHS will play against Liberty and Cabool.
Houston will face Liberty in the opening match at 5 p.m. and play Willow Springs in the next match. After a two-match break, the Lady Tigers will conclude the jamboree against Cabool.
Each match in the jamboree is two sets to 13 points.
Admission is the same as the football jamboree –Â $3 for adults and $1 for students.
